Every company, organization, and even individuals often rely on data to support proper decision making and run daily operations. However, with so much data generated, effective tools are needed to manage, store, and secure the data. This is where the role of\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>DBMS (Database Management System)<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0becomes very important.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>DBMS stands for\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span>Database Management System<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0, a software that allows users to create, manage, modify, and control databases efficiently. In this article, we will discuss\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>the definition of DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0, how it works, its purpose and function, as well as the types and examples of DBMS that are often used.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong><span>What is DBMS?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>DBMS is<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0software designed to manage data systematically and structured.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Database Management System<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0is responsible for organizing data in a form that is easy to access, maintain, and change. In other words,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0helps users store, retrieve, and update data in the database in an easier and more efficient way.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span>In general,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>a database management system is<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0a tool used to manage the relationship between data, users, and application programs. In this case,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>the DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0functions as a bridge connecting users and the data they need.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong><span>How DBMS Works<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>The way DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0works\u00a0is quite simple but complex in its implementation. When a user wants to retrieve data from a database, the request will be processed by\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>the DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>The DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0will perform a series of operations to find the requested data and present it in a format that can be understood by the user or application.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span>The following are the general steps of how\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0works :<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"1\">\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span>A user or application sends a request for data (for example, via a SQL query).<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>The DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0processes the request and performs a search for data in the database.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span>After finding the requested data,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>the DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0sends the results back to the user or application.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong><span>DBMS Objectives and DBMS Functions<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0has various main purposes and functions that help in more effective and efficient data management. Here are some of\u00a0the most important\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>DBMS functions :<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>1. RDBMS (Relational Database Management System)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>RDBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0is the most popular and widely used type of\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>DBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0. Data is stored in the form of interconnected tables, where each row represents a record, and each column represents an attribute.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>RDBMS<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0allows users to perform operations such as querying, updating, and joining data using SQL (Structured Query Language). Examples of this type of DBMS are MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><span>2.
